"Nachmittag der Marketender" in Munich's Olympic Tower

“Nachmittag der Marketender” – An afternoon for media and marketing professionals in Munich’s Olympic Tower

With TV and music presenter Anastasia hosting the event, Journal International recently held a “Nachmittag der Marketender” – an afternoon to discuss new media concepts and the callenges marketing and media professionals will face in the future.

Interview with Fabian Göbel, marketing professor from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich

360 degree marketing live

Distinguished guests and representatives from Journal International got together recently 190 metres above ground in the Munich Olympic Tower for a thought-provoking afternoon. One of the featured speakers was Fabien Göbel, a marketing professor from the Ludwig-Maximilians University, who discussed the importance of narrative, background, information and emotion for brands and in marketing: 360 degree marketing live! The Journal Academy, scheduled to take place in a photo loft on the premises of the Kultfabrik in Munich in April, will take the theme a step further with a variety of seminars and workshops.

Interview with Thorsten Franz, CEO of Happy Digits, Cologne

Customer loyalty, the future of media content and new concepts were the central themes of this year’s "Nachmittag der Marketender” event, and marketing expert Fabian Göbel’s lecture focussed on the challenges of branding and brand management today:

  • Is editorialisation an effective means of staying ahead of the competition?
  • Should brands tell stories? And if so, how and what kind?
  • Who tells these stories today?
  • What are the implications of this for management strategy?
Interview with Karl Frieder Fuchs, COOP Switzerland

In a series of short interviews (see films), Anastasia asked Fabian Göbel about the focal points of his presentation and spoke to a number of representatives from the world of marketing, including Thorsten Franz, CEO of Happy Digits; Karlfrieder Fuchs from COOP Switzerland; and two of Journal International's managing directors, Gerd Giesler and Stefan Endrös.

But the discussion won't stop there! In April and October Journal International will host the Journal Academy, which will be held in a photo loft on Munich's Kultfabrik Münchner Kultfabrik.

Interview with Stefan Endrös, managing director Journal International

The academy will feature a number of speakers, including a representative from the Siegfried Vögele Institut, which will present its research on eye movement (Augenkamera workshop); CRM expert Holger Kuhfuss, who will give a lecture about the latest challenges in customer relations management and customer loyalty; and Internet experts Marco Rinne and Florian Stiller, who will present an overview of current trends in e-publishing and e-journals.
